Un piccolo speciale, più didascalico che altro, per ricordare che Greenlight compie oggi il primo anno di età. Questa “vetrina”, ideata e voluta da Valve, riservata ai titoli indipendenti è stata inaugurata il 30 agosto 2012.
Da allora Greenlight ha promosso 237 giochi che hanno avuto la luce verde verso la pubblicazione su Steam grazie alle preferenze ed all’indice di gradimento degli utenti
Di questi, 61 sono disponibili. Alcuni sono poco conosciuti, altri hanno avuto un pubblico ancora più vasto di quello che lo ha votato nella fase “preliminare” di Greenlight permettendo “la promozione” su Steam.
Dragon’s Lair, Euro Truck Simulator 2, ma anche Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, DLC Quest, Gnomoria, War Thunder (che arriverà anche su PS4), La-Mulana e così via sono disponibili su Steam.
I restanti 176 che sono stati approvati vedranno la luce quanto prima ed anche qui troviamo titoli eccellenti, magari non proprio di new entry.
Tra questi, dando un rapido sguardo, troviamo anche un piccolo pezzo di Made in Italy con Assetto Corsa, titolo automobilistico di Kunos Simulazioni e In Verba Virtus di Indomitus Games.
I giochi approvati rappresentano solo una piccola goccia perché fin da subito sono stati presentati migliaia e migliaia di progetti. Alcuni meritevoli, molti altri meno e neppure presi in considerazione. Valve, tuttavia, decise di introdurre una tassa di 100 dollari per la presentazione e l’approvazione del progetto su Greenlight con i proventi devoluti in beneficenza in modo da limitare chi cercasse soltanto una vetrina per farsi pubblicità con progetti non consoni.
I primi dieci titoli “promossi” vennero annunciati già meno di due settimane dopo l’avvio del servizio.
